Full Membership

Full membership is for anyone who works professionally as a theatre maker in Oxfordshire.

We normally ask that people provide proof that they fulfil one or more of the criteria below in order to be a full member. However, OTM is a broad, welcoming organisation. We want a wide array of professional talent to make up our membership, so if you think that you should be a full member, please give us an outline of your professional history/theatrical talents and we will also consider you for full membership.

The simplest route to full membership is to fulfil one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Membership of a relevant professional body (such as Equity, BECTU, the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain, or other similar organisations)
  2. Evidence of paid professional theatre work (such as a copy of a contract with a theatre or theatre company, or an invoice for your professional theatrical work)
  3. Evidence of professional training (degree or equivalent in a theatre-related subject)
  4. Representation by an agent

Full membership costs £12 for the first year. We ask you to fill in a form giving some details about you and your work, and what you might be able to contribute to OTM. We rely on the active engagement of our members to deliver all of our great benefits and to remain effective and sustainable.

Click here to fill in our Full Membership application form online.

We review membership applications monthly and will let you know whether or not you have been successful. If you have been successful, we will send you an email asking you to pay your membership fee by PayPal, bank transfer, or cheque or cash at an event. Once you have done so, we will add you to our list of members and the appropriate email lists, post you your membership card, and you can start making the most of all our exciting member benefits!

Associate Membership

We know that you don’t have to work professionally in theatre to make an important contribution to the theatre scene in Oxfordshire. Anyone can become an associate member – anyone in Oxfordshire who has an interest in theatre. Oxfordshire is full of talent and our view is that we can all benefit by working together and creating a vibrant local theatrical scene, both professional and socially.

All you need to do to become an Associate Member is to join our mailing list and our Facebook group. The you’ll start hearing all about our great local events and shows! However, OTM is a volunteer-led organisation and relies on the active engagement of our members to deliver all of our great benefits and to remain effective and sustainable, so please consider whether you might be able to help us out with anything, from running a skillshare to greeting people at an event. Whatever your skills and talents, we’d love to hear from you! If you are able to help us out, whether on a regular or one-off basis and even if you’re not sure how, please email oxfordshiretheatremakers@gmail.com.
